Report adalah teks bacaan yang bertujuan untuk menyampaikan informasi tentang sesuatu apa adanya, sebagai hasil pengamatan sistematis atau analisis.

Ciri-ciri teks report:

·         Menggunakan kata benda umum

·         Menggunakan relating verb untuk menjelaskan ciri (am/is/are, have, look)

·         Menggunakan kata kerja tindakan dalam menjelaskan perilaku (fly, eat)

·         Menggunakan present tense/ V1

·         Menggunakan paragraph dengan kalimat topik untuk menyusun sejumlah informasi

Struktur tekst report:

·         General classification: pernyataan umum yang menerangkan subjek laporan, keterangan, dan klasifikasinya.

·         Description: deskripsi yang meliputi bagian kualitas, kebiasaan, atau tingkah laku, kegunaan.

Contoh:

A medical illustrator is an artist who specializes in producing image which are related to the medical field. These images may be used in instructional research publications and a variety of other settings.

            Employment prospects in this field are quite excellent for people who are willing to pursue certification, are there are limited numbers of fully qualified medical illustrators, and there is contains need for medical illustration.

            Humans have been creating medical illustrations for thousands of years, as numerous works of art and historic medical texts indicate. Illustrations were used generic topics like anatomy so that people had a graphic representation of topics discussed in texts, and they were also historically utilized for documentation of unusual medical cases. Over time, the field of medicine has expanded radically, as have the potential applications for medical illustration.

            In order to become medical illustrator, someone trains as an artist and also receives training in the biological sciences. Human anatomy and physiology are typically part of a medical illustrator’s education, and her or she may choose to focus on a particular area of interest, such as nursing, surgery, and so forth, to acquire additional skills. Many professional illustrators also belong to professional organizations of medical illustrators, some of which offer certification and job referrals. This type of work requires artistic skills, along with an eye for detail and the ability to precisely follow instructions. Medical illustrators may also need to be comfortable with working in settings such as operating rooms and morgues.

            The polar bear is a bear native to the Arctic Ocean and its surrounding seas. An adult male weight about 400 to 680 kg, while an adult female is about half that size. Although it is closely related to the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrow ecological niche with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across the snow, ice, openwater and for hunting seals which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, it spend most of its time at sea. Hence its name meaning maritime bear and can hunt consistently, only from sea ice, it spends much of the year on the frozen sea.
